Angela McGoldrick, LPC
is the creator, CEO and Executive Director of Life in Balance Counseling and Wellness Center. Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Development and Adjunct Professor at Radford University in the Department of Counselor Education. She specializes in helping to empower and enrich the lives of others through counseling, coaching, consulting, mentoring, teaching, and as a motivational and inspirational speaker and leader. Angela leads groups, facilitates workshops, conferences and retreats on a variety of topics to develop skills and techniques to enhance the lives of others to find balance and wellness through connecting with the mind, body and spirit to discover inner truth.
Topics Include: Self-Care, Empowerment, Living Life by Your Own Design, Meditation, Mindfulness, Time Management, Enhancing Communication Skills for Couples, Stress Management, Parenting Skills, as well and other life enriching and relationship enhancing topics.
Angela’s ability of overcoming incredible obstacles and struggles as a teen mother has helped her to have an understanding and compassion for others who have challenges in their own lives. Through her vast knowledge and life experiences she is able to connect with people where they are and inspire them to reach for their dreams.
Alan Forrest, Ed.D.
is a Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Radford University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has extensive clinical experience in the areas of addiction, death, loss, grief, and bereavement, self-care and mindfulness practices. In addition to his personal mindfulness meditation practice, Alan has led and co-led mindfulness retreats for college and graduate students, medical students, human service and mental health professionals, educators, and others. He facilitates weekly mindfulness practice groups at Radford University for faculty and staff and twice monthly mindfulness practice sessions at Life in Balance Counseling and Wellness Center.
Carey H. Peerman
has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Radford University (2001), a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Radford University (1998). She also holds certificates in Healthcare Administration- Long Term Care from Mary Baldwin College, Executive Leadership Certificate from The University of Notre Dame, Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean DFSS Certification from Aventa Institute, CITI (Research) Certificate from University of Miami, Gerontology Certificate from University of Texas- Arlington and a Positive Psychology Certificate from Zur Institute.
Ms. Peerman is the Director and Assistant Professor for the Bachelors Program in Healthcare Management at Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Registered Nurse. She also serves on several committees for the Virginia Health Care Association. She has over 20 years of experience in varying aspects of healthcare. Ms. Peerman served as Assisted Living Administrator (5 years) and a Long Term Care Administrator (10 years).
Carey is also owner of Clear Edge Consulting, LLC. She develops educational programs, speaks on a variety of topics, consults for small businesses, and offers career coaching to those in transition.
