Dana earned her Masters degree in Counseling and Psychology from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA where she centered her studies in holistic and expressive therapies. She has worked with children, adults, and families in various school and mental health settings since 2003.
Dana welcomes adults, teens, and children ages 5-12 to her practice. She specializes in work with children, women and teens who are coping with issues such as loss and change, anxiety, depression, stress, and lowered self-esteem. Through an integrative and person-centered approach, Dana seeks to assist clients with re-connecting to their natural state of wholeness and joy. She has special interest in childhood issues related to anxiety, loss, foster care, behavioral concerns, and identity issues. Play therapy, planned activities, and the creative arts are used to support the child on their path to increased resiliency and well-being. Children of diverse backgrounds are actively welcomed to therapy.
Dana’s theoretical perspective is based on Person-Centered counseling, Gestalt Therapy, LifeForce Yoga Techniques, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Play Therapy as taught by Eliana Gil PhD, and Art Therapy as taught by Cathy Malchiodi, PhD.
