Erin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years’ experience, 10 of them while serving as Director of Radford University Student Counseling Services. Erin enjoys working with adults in individual counseling utilizing in person and telehealth appointments.
Erin believes that counseling is helping people to help themselves. She provides support and useful tools to assist clients in attaining their goals of personal growth and symptom relief. Erin has a special interest in the use of brief therapy utilizing: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Insight Oriented Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Erin is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist in EMDR and is a Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner.
Havening is an exciting newer technique in which the client to applies physical touches on the face, arms and hands while utilizing relaxation breathing and distractions which actually helps to shift brain chemistry to decrease strong emotional reactions. It is amazing how helpful this tool has been for clients.
